Information to Help You Support Your Daughter's Involvement
What is Beta Delta Mu?
Beta Delta Mu is a professional sorority exclusively for women pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Unlike traditional social sororities, our primary focus is on academic excellence, professional development, and creating a supportive community for women in male-dominated fields.
What Makes Us Different:
STEM-Focused: All members are pursuing rigorous technical degrees
Academic Standards: Minimum GPA requirements ensure members prioritize academics
Professional Development: Regular workshops, industry connections, career preparation, and professional mentoring opportunities
Inclusive Community: We welcome all women in STEM regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation
No Housing: Members live in university housing or off-campus; no chapter house expenses
Financial Investment and Transparency
We believe parents deserve to understand the financial commitment of membership. Beta Delta Mu strives to maintain affordable membership dues. Financial assistance may be available from our generous alumna to provide dues scholarships each semester. Total costs for an individual member is generally less than $250 / semester.
This makes Beta Delta Mu one of the most affordable sorority options, as we do not have housing costs or extensive social event budgets typical of traditional Greek organizations.

The safety and wellbeing of our members is our highest priority. We maintain comprehensive policies to ensure responsible organization operations.
